Jon Cohan - CADC, LADC Jon has over 13 years of professional experience in substance use disorder and mental health treatment. He counsels adolescents and adults suffering from substance use and alcohol use disorders and brings compassion, experience, and widespread knowledge of the field to help individuals and families navigate the difficult and sometimes confusing terrain of addiction treatment.
Jon uses evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, medically assisted treatment, and The Sinclair Method and is part of a trusted network of doctors and clinicians.
As co-host for The Right Mind Media Podcast on WUMB, Jon has interviewed Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, and many other notable guests on the subject of addiction, recovery, and mental health issues. The podcast has won two National Media Awards in 2014 and 2015 from the National Association of Social Workers.
Jon sits on the Advisory Board of Middlesex Community College’s Addiction Counseling Program and was on the Board of Directors of NAMI Central Middlesex. He has appeared as a guest on Fox 25 news and WGBH’s “Greater Boston” to speak about the opioid crisis in New England.
Jon is also a professional musician, producer, and drum tech with over 150 studio recording credits to his name. He has authored three books for Hal Leonard Publishing, most notably, “Star Sets”, and “Zildjian: A History of the Legendary Cymbal Makers”.
